LP SmartSide compared with wood

LP SmartSide looks like traditional wood because it is made of wood: strands and fibers treated with zinc borate to resist termites and fungal decay, and built extra strong to take impact and wind.

LP SmartSide compared with vinyl

Vinyl promised the look of wood without the upkeep, but it is thin: as little as 0.035 inch, and even the thickest is about 0.050 inch, the thickness of a dime. That leaves a shallow wood-grain texture. LP SmartSide, made of wood strands and fibers, looks much more like traditional wood.

Certified to the SFI standard

Because LP SmartSide is made from wood, a renewable resource, LP invests in reforestation and uses forest management and fiber sourcing programs that meet the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) standard.
